Summary

I’m never reading romance novels again。 Also mad at the ending

Allison

I didn’t want this book to end。 I felt such empathy for all of the characters involved and both the romantic and the traumatic moments made my heart hurt。 I’ll think about both of these characters and their points for a long time, I think。

“When I watch you sleep, I feel overwhelmed that you exist。” Put it on my gravestone。 I’ll die in fashion。 This is an Augustus Everett & January Andrews stan account。

Hannah (The Curiouser & Curiouser)

Omg I think I found a new favorite author。

This books was really good。 It also touched on things like do happily ever after actually exist or if love is worth suffering for。 It became quite sad for me and it wasn’t what I expected。 Still, I enjoyed the discussions and issues it brought up。 However, cheating on your wife who has cancer is literally something sociopaths would do。 If I were January’s mom I would have never forgiven him。 Being a cheater does not cancel out the fact that he was a good father but I hate when people confuse “mi This books was really good。 It also touched on things like do happily ever after actually exist or if love is worth suffering for。 It became quite sad for me and it wasn’t what I expected。 Still, I enjoyed the discussions and issues it brought up。 However, cheating on your wife who has cancer is literally something sociopaths would do。 If I were January’s mom I would have never forgiven him。 Being a cheater does not cancel out the fact that he was a good father but I hate when people confuse “mistakes” with deliberate actions that hurt people。 Then, present the person who committed the action feeling sorry for themselves。 。。。more

I loved this book! I love the “older” mc wisdom and insight of January and Gus。 A great healing and almost coming of age story。 These characters felt real and relatable。

Just could not get into the characters:(

Yes, it was a beach read, not a bad one, but of course predictable。

Caroline

It's not about the type of beach that I like (Hawaii, obvi), but the story is cute and the main characters are fun。 Also, no one really spends much time at the beach (even though they literally live on a beach)。 The cover of the book is kind of misleading。 LOLI can't remember when I read this book。 2020 or 2021。 :( It's not about the type of beach that I like (Hawaii, obvi), but the story is cute and the main characters are fun。 Also, no one really spends much time at the beach (even though they literally live on a beach)。 The cover of the book is kind of misleading。 LOLI can't remember when I read this book。 2020 or 2021。 :( 。。。more

if it weren't for the job, duties and activities I have to do to survive, I would read the book all at once。 I always appreciate romantic stories where the couple actually have tension, and this is one of the stories。 definitely one of my favorite book purchases this year and I sincerely recommend it to everyone who’s still hesitant。 if it weren't for the job, duties and activities I have to do to survive, I would read the book all at once。 I always appreciate romantic stories where the couple actually have tension, and this is one of the stories。 definitely one of my favorite book purchases this year and I sincerely recommend it to everyone who’s still hesitant。 。。。more

If I based my star rating on quality, this would be a 3 or 3。5。 The author writes well; I appreciated that she added a little something more to the modern romance genre; and it was a book about writers, so that was good for me, too。 But ultimately, this/these kinds of stories don't really interest me。 If I based my star rating on quality, this would be a 3 or 3。5。 The author writes well; I appreciated that she added a little something more to the modern romance genre; and it was a book about writers, so that was good for me, too。 But ultimately, this/these kinds of stories don't really interest me。 。。。more

I don’t know what is in the air currently but none of the books i read satisfy me enough:(The same with ‘Beach Read’。 I liked the first half and would have given it 4⭐️ but yet again the second half was so boring and idk it didn’t feel like a romance。Also that proposal gave me the ick。

I wish I could give this a 4。5/5Beach Read was so enjoyable! I expected more of a contemporary/romance plot after reading Henry's "People We Meet on Vacation," but there were also elements of depth throughout this story that gave the reader something more than a love story as the main plot。 I wish I could give this a 4。5/5Beach Read was so enjoyable!
